
The Japanese concept of kodawari, a meticulous attention to detail, extends to Tokyo’s specialty coffee scene. The city has scores of cafés throughout its neighborhoods. Among the dozens worth visiting, Unlimited, Glitch, and Leaves Coffee count as home-grown standouts. An important market for foreign roasters, Norwegian Fuglen and U.S.-based Blue Bottle have both tapped into the city’s unquenchable thirst. In fact, Blue Bottle has nine venues in Tokyo alone (28 throughout Japan).
