
The Management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, has expelled two 200-level female students over alleged involvement in lesbianism.
The management of Kogi State University, Kabba (KSU Kabba) has expelled four students over allegations of lesbianism and physical assault, while another student was rusticated for related misconduct.
According to an official statement from the university, the decision followed investigations by the institution’s disciplinary committee after reports of “serious violations of student conduct regulations.” The expelled students were found guilty of engaging in what the school described as “acts contrary to the moral and disciplinary standards of the institution,” as well as involvement in violent altercations on campus.
The university said the actions were taken to maintain order, discipline, and uphold its code of ethics. It added that the affected students had been given the opportunity to defend themselves during the disciplinary process.
The case has sparked discussions around student discipline and morality enforcement in Nigerian higher institutions, especially regarding how universities handle issues involving personal behavior and campus regulations.
Kogi State University, Kabba (KSU Kabba) is a state-owned institution in Nigeria that has recently expanded its student population, making student conduct enforcement a recurring issue as the campus grows.
Also expelled two other students for offences bordering on physical assault, st@bbing, and cloning of students’ pictures, while another student was rusticated for one academic session over involvement in fighting and physical assault.
The management disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
According to the statement, the decision was taken by the Senate of the University at its 30th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
The Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mr. Eli Usman Gbadafu, in separate letters addressed to the affected students, stated that the Senate’s decision takes immediate effect.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Engr.Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu ,FNSE, commended the Students’ Disciplinary Committee for what he described as a thorough and diligent job.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the University remains committed to training students in both character and learning, stressing that the Management will not compromise on discipline and adherence to the institution’s rules and regulations.
