Vietnam is the second-largest coffee producer in the world, and the country has long been associated with cà phê sữa nóng, a strong brew sweetened with one or more tablespoons of condensed milk. In the past decade, Vietnam’s specialty coffee scene has flourished. A growing network of local roasters and cafés has emerged, particularly in District 1, the central hub for tourists, and its border with District 3. Local roaster Every Half built a café empire with 10 locations across the city, each a stylish ode to its particular location that’s unified by a clean, organic aesthetic. Bosgaurus, another multi-café roaster, focuses on elevating Vietnam’s own Arabica to specialty coffee standards.
