That being the case, you should expect to pay at least £15,000 for a tidy Standard Range Plus from 2019 with an average mileage. That rises to about £17,000 for a Long Range model of the same provenance.

Performance models are rarer but don’t cost all that much more; £18,500 is the starting price for a decent example at the moment.

For the facelifted models, expect to pay at least £30,000 for one with a respectable mileage. Performance versions of this shape Model 3 are even harder to come by, so don’t expect to get much change from £50,000.

Why should I buy one?
The Model 3 is about as hassle-free an introduction to long-distance electric motoring as it’s possible to get, with plenty of range and easy-to-use public charging.
