The crash k!lled the pilot and co-pilot.
A private jet that was scheduled to pick up former MLB star Yadier Molina and his family in Texas crashed shortly after takeoff from La Romana in the Dominican Republic on June 7, 2026. The aircraft, a Gulfstream G200, reportedly experienced technical problems and attempted to return to the airport before crashing and catching fire.
The only people on board were the pilot and co-pilot, both of whom died in the crash. Authorities identified them as Erick Javier Diago and Ruddy Ghazal. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
It crashed in a massive fireball, k!lling the pilot and co-pilot, the only people onboard, officials said.

Molina later confirmed on social media that the plane had been on its way to pick up him, his family, and friends in Texas for a trip back to Puerto Rico. He expressed condolences to the families of the two pilots, calling the tragedy “heartbreaking.”
Fortunately, Molina and his family were not on board when the crash occurred.
The incident has drawn significant attention because of how close Molina and his family came to being involved, but at this stage investigators have not yet released a final determination of what caused the aircraft to crash.
The US-registered Gulfstream G200 Galaxy executive jet had taken off for Austin when the crew reported problems on board, forcing the pilot to attempt an emergency return to the airport Sunday, June 7.
