Nigeria’s sprint hurdles star, Tobi Amusan, claimed her first Diamond League victory of the 2026 season in spectacular fashion by winning the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League in Morocco.
The world record holder stormed to victory in 12.28 seconds, equalling her season’s best time and breaking her own Rabat meeting record of 12.45 seconds set last year.

The win marked an important breakthrough for Amusan after opening her Diamond League campaign with a third-place finish in Shanghai and a runner-up finish in Xiamen. Her performance in Rabat confirmed her return to top form as she prepares for the major championships later this year.
Amusan, the 2022 world champion and current world-record holder in the 100m hurdles, remains one of Nigeria’s biggest athletics stars and is aiming to reclaim the Diamond League title she has won three times previously.
Her next scheduled Diamond League appearance is expected to be in Rome later this week as the 2026 season continues.
