We make decisions every day. Some of these choices are trivial, others crucial.
Life is filled with choices that can either make or break you.
At different stages of life, you’re presented with different choices, and to make such decisions without error, you need proper guidance which only God’s Word can provide.
Many people have spoiled their Christian lives because of bad decisions made apart from God’s Will (e.g.) wrong job, wrong relationships, wrong marriage partner, mistakes in pursuit of education, mistakes made moving to other places.
It is not only young people who make unwise decisions; many older and even elderly people have committed this grave mistake.
Where you are today is a result of the decisions you made yesterday.
Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
When it comes to making decisions, itβs important that you have what it takes to do so.
In todayβs world, there are patterns people adopt when they want to make decisions. These patterns generally donβt line up with Godβs way, so He doesnβt want you following them.
The Bible says, βDonβt be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to himβ (Romans 12:2 CEV).
No matter how attractive the worldβs system looks, refuse to let it influence your decisions. It may exert pressure and try to compel you to follow its ways, but you mustnβt give in to it, for youβre not of the world (John 15:19).
Understand that you donβt have to make mistakes or learn from someoneβs mistake before you get things right.
When youβre led by the Spirit of God, Heβll guide you on the right path and help you make the right decisions every time. Youβll learn to get things right the first time. As you yield to His leading, your Fatherβs nature will be revealed in your decisions and youβll always be in sync with His perfect will for your life.
Also, let the word of God control your values, your ideas, your opinions, and your choices.
There are a lot of people who have their own opinions. They have their own set of values that are not governed by the word of God. But as God’s children, we are new creations in Christ Jesus. We belong in a different kingdom, Godβs Kingdom; and the life that Heβs given us to live is different from that known by the rest of the world. But if you are carnally minded, you will act and think like the world.
God wants us to be spiritually minded. He wants us to think like Him; like those who are in His Kingdom.
It matters what your decision is in life! If God did not approve, don’t go for it.
Don’t make decisions because they are convenient for you. Look at the word!
In your life, are your decisions giving birth to goliaths?
It matters what your decisions are. No one is ever a fool for trusting and choosing the way of the Spirit.
Always choose right; choose the way of the Spirit, and not that which seems right, practical, and sensible in the sight of men.
Don’t make decisions that will pitch your life away from the Worship of God in your life. Make Word-based choices.
