Boy imprisoned for 8 months after his opponent d!ed following a fight is freed as investigation reveals the victim died from sickle cell complications

An X-user has shared the story of a young man who was arrested and made to spend eight months in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

The X-user stated that she went to Ikoyi prison sometime this month for an outreach. One of the legal practitioners who visited the prison with the church approached a young man and upon inquiry, it was discovered that the man was arrested for m#rder. He was said to have fought with a lady who beat up his siblings. Days after, the lady passed on. The church later discovered that police investigations showed the deceased lady passed away from sickle cell complications and not from any injury sustained during her victim with the boy.

She said the legal practitioner followed up and was able to secure the man’s release last week.
