
The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested a young woman and her three accomplices for the gruesome m8rder of her boyfriend in Gidan Kacha village, Gada Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson of the command, DSP Ahmad Rufai, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, October 25, 2025 said the victim, Ali Salisu of Darnawa village, was lured by his girlfriend, Rukayya Amadu, who allegedly conspired with another lover, Hamisu Ibrahim, to rob and m8rder him.
According to the PPRO, the incident occurred on October 4, 2025, after Rukayya invited the unsuspecting victim to a secluded area in the Dabagi bush under the guise of a private meeting.
“Unknown to him, Rukayya had arranged with Hamisu to set a deadly trap. When the victim arrived, Hamisu ambushed him, tied a rope around his neck, and strangled him to d3ath before fleeing with his red Kasea motorcycle,” the statement read.
The police spokesperson added that further investigation led to the arrest of two other suspects, Lawali Abdullahi and Ibrahim Abdullahi, who received and attempted to sell the stolen motorcycle in Sokoto.
“All four suspects have been arrested and are in custody. They will soon be charged in court for criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, and receiving stolen property.”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, while commending the investigating officers for their swift and thorough work, described the incident as “a painful reminder of how deceit and jealousy can destroy lives
“This case is both tragic and instructive. It shows how misplaced trust can end in disaster. We urge the public to exercise caution in personal relationships and to avoid secluded areas, especially at night,” he said.
He also warned traders and buyers against purchasing valuables such as motorcycles and vehicles without proper verification of ownership.
“Receiving stolen property is a serious offence under the law. Ignorance will not shield anyone from prosecution,” the CP cautioned.
The police command assured residents of its commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state, urging members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
“Our mission is to protect lives and property. With the continued cooperation of the public, Sokoto will remain safe and peaceful for all,” he added.
