Supporters gathered outside National Assembly cheer as senator Natasha gains access to office

Supporters gathered outside the National Assembly today to cheer Senator Natasha Akpoti-Udughan as she gained access to her office after being suspended for 6 months.

The supporters cheered the Senator and taunted those against her as they escorted her into the senate building.

Activist Peter Akah, aka Peter for Nigeria, said to Natasha as they walked: “You are taking your place today.”

“That’s right,” Senator Natasha responded.

“Nobody can remove you. God is with you, your people are with you,” Peter added and Natasha agreed with him as she walked to her office, surrounded by supporters.

Recall that Sentaor Natasha Akpoti-Udughan was suspended in March 2025 and this sparked legal battles and public outcry, with the Federal High Court describing it as “excessive”.

The Senate maintained that her suspension was for gross misconduct and violation of Senate rules, and not related to her s£xual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Today, the leadership of the Senate ordered the unsealing of her office.
