A Nigerian lady has shared her thoughts online after receiving a reply to a message she sent over four years ago.
In a video posted in Yoruba, she explained that back then, she had reached out to a friend living in the US — once to seek patronage for her business and another time during the popular friendship challenge that trended during COVID.
According to her, the friend didn’t respond to the business request, of which she doesn’t even operate anymore and her friend told her she had already done the challenge with her other friends. The conversation ended there.
Now, years later, the friend has suddenly replied to those old messages. The lady suggested that the renewed response may have come because she has made progress in life, pointing out that she recently bought a new car.
She added that the same friend had initially distanced herself, perhaps because she felt she had the upper hand because she relocated to the US.
The lady noted that she has since unfollowed and blocked the friend on social media, stressing her point with a reminder: “In everything you do, make sure you become somebody.”
