According to court documents, chiropractor Laura Watterson accused Kelly of confronting her at her office on August 26, shouting accusations before allegedly striking her multiple times. Watterson claimed that Kelly hit her in the chest in front of a patient and, when asked to leave, knocked off her glasses and struck her again on the side of the head.
A warrant was issued on August 29, and jail records confirm Kelly was taken into custody on September 3. She has been charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and battery.

Kelly’s attorney, James J. Exum, has denied the allegations, calling them “false” and stating, “We believe completely in Kelly’s innocence and we look forward to challenging the false allegations once we have a court date.”
Court filings show Kelly and Thomas Davis married in 2008 but separated in March 2024. In her civil case, Kelly alleged that the former linebacker engaged in “illicit sexual conduct with at least six women” during their marriage.
Thomas Davis, a first-round pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, played 13 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, earning three Pro Bowl selections and recording more than 1,000 tackles before stints with the Los Angeles Chargers and Washington Commanders. He and Kelly share two children, including Thomas Davis Jr., a four-star linebacker committed to play for Notre Dame.
