Former aide to former President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has sparked a debate after reminding young Nigerians of how great Nigeria was in 1980.
In a post shared on her Facebook page, Onochie who was Special Assistant to Buhari on Social Media, shared a picture showing the exchange rate of the dollar to the Naira for traveller’s cheques in 1980. According to the photo she shared, $1000 was N546.45.
She said that young Nigerians will not believe this ever happened in Nigeria. Her post has sparked a debate on social media with many comparing the exchange rate she shared with the one when she was in the Buhari-led administration.
