Adebayo Caleb, professionally known as Cheque, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. He was born on March 23, 1995, in Ondo State, Nigeria.
Early Life and Education
Cheque grew up in Ondo State, where he developed a passion for music at a young age. He began writing his own songs and rapping in secondary school.
Cheque pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Music Career




Cheque’s music career began in 2015 when he started releasing music on social media platforms. He gained popularity with his unique blend of hip-hop, Afrobeats, and melodic rap.
In 2020, Cheque signed a record deal with Penthauze Records, a label founded by Phyno. He released his debut EP, “Razor,” which featured hits like “Zoom” and “Superstar.”
Cheque’s breakthrough single, “Zoom,” became a massive hit in 2020, topping various music charts in Nigeria. And he featured Davido for the remix.
Awards and Recognition
Cheque has been nominated for several awards, including the Headies Award for Next Rated Act in 2021.
