Honda decided to reboot the very definition of a supercar.

In 1991, Honda decided to reboot the very definition of a supercar. The NSX had actually been in development for almost a decade prior to its launch in the early ’90s and the vision had never wavered – this would be a lightweight supercar that would be as easy to live with as any other Honda product of the day. By sticking to this mantra, the Acura NSX managed to bring levels of driveability to a sector that seemed to define itself by being the opposite, and a legend was born.

The NSX’s importance only seems to get clearer with age. It may have seemed a little underpowered at the time, and certainly by today’s standards, but many supercars followed its lead, with manufacturers such as Audi striving to make the R8 a viable option in a one-car garage. So how much is the iconic NSX, which was marketed as an Acura in some markets, and Honda in others, worth today?

HotCars used expert resources such as Hagerty and classic.com for used prices, plus Carsurvey and Edmunds for in-depth research on reliability and ownership.
