America is known for muscle cars , pickups, and luxury sedans. But supercars ? Not so much. That space has always belonged to the Europeans. Italy gave the world Ferrari and Lamborghini . Germany delivered Porsche and Mercedes-AMG. Britain brought Aston Martin and McLaren. These brands built legacies on high-performance engineering and exotic styling. The U.S., by contrast, rarely stepped into the ring.
But not for lack of trying. Over the decades, a few American companies took the risk of building real supercars – cars designed to compete on a global stage. Most of them failed. Some never made it past prototypes. Others faded fast. But one of them actually broke through. It hit 200 mph, had an aerospace-inspired design, and looked like it came from the future. And yet, almost no one talks about it today.
