Meanwhile it would be no surprise if Newcastle’s owners do soon start to look for a manager with a record for winning titles, given they will surely want such success.
With that in mind, the circumstances behind everything do therefore seem to suggest that Howe eventually leaving St James’ Park and taking over with England could make sense for all concerned.
